AUTUMN WINTER 2018
'Ise' the Yoruba term for 'Work' is the fourth collection by Ladunni Lambo, which focuses on the industrial revolution and the need for women in the work place. This collections reflective and multi-functional pieces represents the ideology of women taking on more than they were used to. Managing a life with a lot to achieve on a regular basis, the illusion of having more than two hands to aid in day-to-day activities, is depicted through the collection as elements of embroider and appliqué. Also inspired by components from the suffragettes, factory workers, home-makers and artisans, Ise depicts a melody of labour in various fields of a woman’s life.
